Mapping Software
For "onroad" navigation Mapsource from Garmin

Features include:
Trip and waypoint management functions
Detailed maps of major metropolitan areas in 6 regions in Western Europe.
Detailed maps containing motorways, national and regional thoroughfares and local roads with attributes such as turn restrictions, speed categories and other navigation features.
Points of interest such as food and drink, lodging, border crossings, petrol stations, hospitals and more.
Software that automatically creates point-to-point routes in Mapsource and all map display Garmin GPS units including GPSV, NavTalk GSM Phone and iQue.
Coverage for Europe is divided into 6 regions.

For "offroad"or topographic information FUGAWI UK maps make available the OS 1:50,000 Landranger Series on your PDA.

The Garmin iQue & Mapsource are Great on road, and when topographic or more detailed information is required the combination of iQue & Fugawi UK are unbeatable.

Unlike other units the iQue has a built in GPS, no need for a bulky jacket or external antenna. This is a full featured PDA and GPS in one very slim package. Using the Palm Operating System there is no shortage of software. The use of memory cards gives unlimited capacity for maps & data storage.

Fugawi also supply marine charts in a compatible format

Similar to the Fugawi Software, with extensive GPS, route, track & waypoint support. The GPS can be connected and location can be displayed in realtime on the map. the programme has excellent search facilities.

The whole of the 1:50,000 Landranger Series is now available on C.D. You can purchase areas like Wales, South Coast, Scotland. Alternatively coverage of the whole UK is available as North & Scotland or South of England & Wales.
